Yeah,
I hear of mega turbo built hi boost 300hp.
But I say but there's a problem:
1nz is not a turbo born so there's no any oil injector for piston cooling.
What I know each well done turbo engine has cooling injectors.
So how long this 1nzfe hi boost pressure engine can last?
Time to go for meal? Does it take?
I love my N/A hi comp hi lift engine.
And I don't live to go rebuilding every week..

My car: 360 whp on pump gas, running just fine after two years of street and track use.
(I have gone through a couple of clutches and exhaust flanges though)

@speed1

should really do some browsing on how this 1nz can handle boost.

http://yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39407

Quite a few people Daily Drive their boosted 1nz. Like any build though, you will eventually wanna get more out of your car and push it a bit too far

These little bastards can be torquey as hell in relationship to displacement, compared to a lot of 4 bangers out there.

yeah, you need an LSD. Kaaz or OS Giken. I've used both, the Kaaz is great and a better price.

What tires are you using? If they're not sticky, you're not going to hook it up.

1 bar is roughly 14psi. that is a lot of boost. at that point you are going to have issues with the connecting rods. I don't think the pistons are a problem.

there are several guys around here running 8-9 psi (little more than half a bar) on stock everything and doing just fine. I think they are dynoing around 180hp at the wheels. at that point though, tuning is a must.

I have also heard that an N/A build at really high hp levels requires very high reving and the torque is not there like the boosted ones.

there again, not an expert. Just what I have read.

LSD locks the tires (basically) so it will definitely help regardless of tires but if you are using cheap crappy tires then you could do so much better just buying better tires and it would probably be cheaper too.

I have been looking into regearing, lsd, and light flywheel. I can't justify the lsd at $1,000us.

depending on what you are doing, get yourself some cheap rims and get some racing slicks. swap them on from time to time...you will definitely notice.

LSD won't help you grip much if your tires aren't grippy.

Isn't regearing the most expensive of those three? Also, the flywheel's effect is completely separate and unrelated to grip, just to be clear. If anything it will make traction more difficult.

garm,

I priced out the xB gears at around $500ish. I am fine with the 4.3s and yea, I threw in the light flywheel because that was part of what I am considering. It would make it rev faster and thus possibly break traction easier.

I have actually been wondering if there was a cheaper place to get the gear set. I am looking at OEM xB stuff for the gearing. I still have not found an LSD much cheaper than $1000.

If you know of a better deal out there, let me know.
