Big 3 upgrade: grounding ALT directly to BATT?

Hi, I am planning to do the Big 3 upgrade, and here is my question:

Would it be better to connect a ground strap from the alternator body to the battery negative, rather than to the chassis?

I will be using 25 sq.mm. cable which is equivalent to 4 AWG.

My rationale is that in the stock setup, the alt was grounded to the batt via the engine ground strap.

By connecting directly from the alt to the batt negative, the reduction of resistance could be realized as there will be less connectors in the path.
(Therefore, lower voltage drop)

My car has stock audio system. I plan to do this upgrade mainly for engine efficiency and fuel economy.
