Would this work in a boosted (or NA) Yaris?

On a 1st gen - Yes. On a 2nd gen - No.

I went back and re-read the listing and yep, 1st gen.

The one in that ebay link is, It has a daughter board on there. As sloppy as it looks, you can take the 28pin chip on there slap it in a programmer, find maps, and reprogram. They are smart to scratch out the chip numbers so people will have a hard time replicating that board. Along with all that tasty looking silicone on it.

But what sort of software would be required to do so, or does someone have to go through and learn all the code?
