How to Hook up a Capacitor

I found this diagram on a site , Is it showing the amp using the Cap as it's ground ? Is this accurate, or is each manufacturer different ? Site this is from Soundstream

Techically a ground is a ground. So I'm a little confused why that one says NEVER. I guess it's harder to find a good .01 resistance ground in three places. But to say never is a bit if a stretch IMO.

Previous caps that I have used were set in line like the top right diagram shows. So I guess makes say to do it different. Idk

I always use separate grounds also, i never run my ground from the cap to the amp, that's why i was wondering if i had been hooking it up wrong all this time ?

Mine is set up like NEVER! mwhahahah

My friend who has been in stereos forever set it up like that, I've taken it to 2 stereo shops for other stuff, who never said anything about it being wrong, its been like that for 70,000 miles with no problems. It discharges on hits, and recharges pretty close to instantly...

So what's so bad about that way? I'm assuming in the first 2 "good" pics you are still supposed to ground from battery terminal, even though its not shown?

Hey Palmer you don't carry them Soundstream capacitors do you ?

6.0 Farad Digital Hybrid Super Capacitor
• Amperage Meter
• Voltage Meter
• 24VDC Surge Rated
• PCB with Blue LED Displays
• Charging Status Indicator
• Mounting Brackets
• Extruded Aluminum Housing
• Chrome Plated

I like the amperage / voltage meter displays. If so what will one of these things run me ? And i've been hooking mine up the (never) way also, made me kinda second guess myself, that's the reason i asked for opinions .

Tsunami sells a 10 farad cap that I have had awesome luck with. It has a volt meter display as well. It has a few other bells and whistle, but nothing worth mentioning. FYI if your in the market lol.

Link This is the one I have, but I believe it has been replaced by newer models.

For the Batteries how do you usually know what size to sell somebody ? Is it the RMS or the Max Values of the amp (s) ? And Palmer, If you were going to Upgrade an alternator, which brand would you recommend ?
