Nice, hope it all works out with both your guy's car. When i had a replica, it didnt fit even with jdm bar on stock brackets, cuz i know i tried every combo possible. Plus the fact the thing never fit anyhow, i smashed it up and tossed it. Fiberglass should be more workable, this was in ABS plastic.

The shorter brackets were the answer. Removed stock longer ones and put on shorter ones with stock crash bar and fits perfect. The vis is a nice bumper. Only one gripe. Doesnt come with the abs rs upper and lower grills. Came with metal weave in both locations. Found lower grill on jp-carparts.com but having a hard time locating upper abs grill piece. The kaminari reverse cowl hood fits perfectly as well. Will post pics when car is done at body shop for paint and the fixing of all dings and dents.
thanks to kcalb siray and ezhacker1 for pointing me in the right direction. And thanks to everyone on this thread for the help.
Cant wait to see it all put together and painted. I think it will look sick!

Man that's awesome can't wait to see it. I wonder if this upper grill would fit it.

Here is one on japanparts.

Question. Do you know yet if the factory grills will fit the VIS bumper?

Yes!!! Happy to be of help, That's good to know, even the replica ones will work like actual RS. Brackets Only!

I dont think real grilles will work, probably zip tie them.

Emailed rdh japan on the color code for the trd lip spoiler. Thought it would come primed but its fully painted and need the color code so I can do the cowl section of hood same and the grills.

What are the VIS bumpers made of? fiberglass or ABS plastic? Curious, fiberglass has been my downfall for a long time. It just chips so easily on the highway.

I have the same concerns about chipping. Thinking of having the body shop teflon coat the hood and bumper when I get it painted.

Good thing about fiberglass is it is fairly easy to work with and repair. I know factory plastic bumper covers would be ideal, it just so expensive to get them shipped over here.

Its not so much that it is easy to repair.. It is having to repair it so often. It's not like you can just use some touch up paint to fill in the nicks in the paint. Rocks also take a chunk of fiberglass with the paint.

I will say, the C-One bumper I got from Micro Image was really thin. It was cracking where the bumper met the fender within a month. Had to reinforce that area and still started doing the same thing a few months later

Real RS grilles worked perfectly fine on my fiberglass bumper (bought from echo_hrs). Granted I had to make tabs and glass them in for them to stay put but they were a perfect fit. Zip ties would work ONLY if there is something to zip tie them to. The fiberglass and ABS replica's I've seen don't really have tabs at all so if he doesn't, he'll have to get creative.

Don't know who you bought from but echo_hrs never, ever, ever had fiberglass bumpers. It was always nothing but the real thing for him.

I think you are reading my sentence differently than I wrote it; the grilles are real, not my bumpers.
