Gas is subsidised heavily here thats why so cheap..currently a 2013 model basic is $25,581 US so you can leave the eeks and eyebulges

So (others also see posts #102, #104, and #128) a 2007 model basic currently costs $23,256 USD vs. a current cost of $25,581 USD for a 2013 model basic ?

Both = $ 1.55 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon...9 cents per gallon less than the cheapest on January 5th. Today, that Wal-Mart has fallen off the chart, but that Murphy Express is the 3rd cheapest in the metro at a lower $ 1.52 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon. Two stations are tied for the cheapest in our metro at $ 1.49 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon (6 cents per gallon less than the cheapest was 2 days ago, and 15 cents per gallon less than the cheapest was a week ago)....a Valero on the other side of the metro near Hobby Airport, and a Stripes (cash price only) a few blocks away from the aforementioned Wal-Mart and Murphy Express.

I got gas yesterday, one day after the post above. The Stripes and the Valero that were the two cheapest at $1.49 9/10 the day before went in different directions. The Valero on the other side of the metro went up 6 cents to $1.55 9/10. The Stripes went down 5 cents per gallon to $1.44 9/10 per gallon...still the cheapest in the metro and still a cash only price. The Murphy Express stayed the same as the previous day at $1.52 9/10. The Kroger that is physically between the Murphy Express and the Stripes (a few blocks from each) came from off the list (out of the top 15 lowest) the day before to second overall and the cheapest credit card price at $1.46 9/10. I stopped at that Kroger and paid the $1.46 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon.

Just got gas for my 2007 Yaris...first time since October. Prices continue to drop. The Murphy Express mentioned in the previous post (post #133) = the lowest credit card price and the 3rd lowest overall in our metro at $1.41 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon. I got gas there and paid that price of $1.41 9/10. The cheapest overall is a tie between two cash only offerings...one being the Stripes I mentioned in post #133 and post #126, and the other being the Wal-Mart I mentioned in post #126....both at $1.38 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon. The Kroger I patronized for my last 2014 fill-up also lowered their price, but only to $1.44 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon.

Hmm I think it an excellent strategy for the oil companies. Consumers will buy big cars and its possible V24 engines will be produced. Then in a year or two the oil companies will be able to raise prices to $10 a gallon and they ill have the (idiot) public by the balls!

LOL - There are some cheap gas prices out there. It's about 2.09 a gallon here in Lenoir, NC. - Absolutely no regrets about buying the Yaris, It's less than $20.00 to fill it up and THAT lasts for 4-6 weeks! Unreal...The car has been flawless after almost 2 years and 9,150 miles. I just wonder how low they'll go.

Re ^^^^

(Re earlier post...I was just teasing....when I think of giveaways, the deep blue Northeast and deep blue Western states that border the Pacific come to mind)

I just got gas. This time it was at the Murphy Express mentioned in recent posts......cheapest credit card price in the Houston metro and tied for second cheapest overall at $ 1.57 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon. This is a 16 cents per gallon INCREASE over one week ago...over 10 percent. The cheapest overall price in our metro = the Stripes station mentioned in recent posts at $ 1.54 9/10 USD per U.S. gallon...also 16 cents more than a week ago.

Was at Costco in Abbotsford a week ago. Gas was 0.849 CAD a litre. Here in Chilliwack it has stayed at 0.919 CAD a litre for the last couple of weeks. Don't expect it to go much lower due to the sliding Canadian dollar.
