I think why? has been drinking. 4 x 4 = 16. ;)

EDIT: Actually, in truth... Idjiit's been drinking. 4 lbs per tire x 4 lbs equivalent to unsprung weight = 16 x 4 tires = 64lbs. Sorry, I'll go back to drinking now. ;)

I see what you are saying about the weight & I agree, but it seems illogical that less mass would weigh more, but I guess that it could be possible with variations in materials & thicknesses. I'm still getting 17"s, it'll be my Daily but I do corner "Spiritedly" on occasion so I want to be able to handle when I want or need to. I don’t care about the rough ride, my xB is horrid rough (I think the shocks/struts are going)

BTW, I’m not looking at those Toyo’s it was just a reference. I want Kumho 711 or Falken FE 512.

The 4 lb weight difference is due solely to a stronger construction of the 17" tire.

I'm just looking for a good bit lighter than the stockers, stiffer too.

Which is what you will get. I plan to stiffen the suspension eventually with urethane bushing and lower it as well, I'll let the tires take up the softening business, and if the tires don't handle well enough I can always upgrade.

Lowering it will be essential. The seats are way too high as well. My head almost hits the ceiling - I'll be dropping the seat height at least 2 inches once I get my race seat in. It will be interesting to see if the car feels like it has less roll after those two things are done.

In my Wife's xA they seem really high, so I lean it back & then slide it forward. it works for me but might not work for you.

i test drove a 5 speed sedan yesterday and it had no tach, the transmission feels sooo good but not being able to read rpm's to bring them higher is kinda annoying.

Yeah, doesn't work for me. I'm 6ft so there's only so close I can sit before my knees start hitting, and I like to keep close enough to the wheel so I can turn hard with both hands on the wheel but still have good strength in my arms.

word, the xA is bigger so it might have bigger footwells. but lowering the seat stills sounds like a good idea, but only when getting replacement seats

Okay, so why is it that I don't have the option of building a liftback with a five-speed when I enter my ZIP (53207), or even my Dad's ZIP (98607)? Anyone have any ideas?

It may simply be a bug in the system. Call your dealer and ask what they can get.
