curious...
Why is it called the '2007' Yaris in the US? Is that how you distinguish models in the US? Or is it just a marketing gimmik? Cos here its 2005 Yaris as the build date is Oct05.

In the US, If a car is introduced past March of that year, it gets the next year's name (i guess a ploy to make the car sound more advanced, but its the tradition here for years and years and years). So for example, if I walk into any car dealership in June of 2006, most of the cars I would be looking to buy would be 2007 models. |

I also have had the privilege of driving a 06 Yaris in 05. It is the system here. Even the insurance agent did not dispute my car's 06 model year status when I bought insurance for it in 05.
