Brake inspection at 92,000 miles (original brakes)...

Had a coupon for a free inspection at my Toyota dealer and received great news. The front pads still have 45% left! Sweet! I thought sure I'd be closer to the need for replacement at 92,000 miles. Gotta love the Yaris. Many vehicles need replacement by 50,000 miles, particularly heavier vehicles.

did they check the rear shoes? I've been meaning to pull mine off to check them out I assume they have plenty left.

The rear drums generally last a lot longer than front pads (which of course you know). The service was for a brake inspection which I assume they would at least take a quick look at the rears. I was mostly concerned with knowing the life of the fronts which are, as mentioned, 45%. The rears are probably barely used.

This is good news. I've got about 46K on the clock and was thinking the brakes would have to be done soon.

Nobody makes a full stop in Montreal! LOL
