Where is the maintenance schedule for Yaris? My owners manual doesn't have one. How am I suppose to know when to change oil, spark plugs, filters, etc? How's wrong with Toyota? They think we're all rich and hand over wads of cash to the dealer for maintenance?

This is for an automatic. Guess the only difference would be recommended tranny fluid replacement. You can go to your local dealer and ask them to print off a copy of the maintenance schedule for your vehicle.

My 2007 Sedan. Came with a separate Scheduled Maintenance Booklet and it was not part of the Owners Manual.

I have a 2009 liftback, and same thing, the maintanance schedule came as a separate booklet. If you bought your Yaris new, it should have come with it.

Oops, that was a big mistake. However, I'm sure the dealership can order you a new booklet.

I always smile when I see that Maintenance Menu. I received one when I purchased my 07 Yaris in July of 07. The sales lady must of spent at least 5 minutes with it in her hand explaining how all the costs are right there on the schedule so you will know how much your maintenance will be in the future.
When I went in for my 8,000 km service in January of 08, the price of the oil and filter service had risen to $39.95 plus taxes and environmental fees. Didn't even get my first service at the price on the menu.

Does the maintanance shedule in Canada show prices? Because the ones included with the Yaris in the US don't. That cost is really high for an oil change. You can save a lot of money by changing the oil yourself, rather than going to the dealership. Changing the oil on a Yaris is so easy. And I'm girl with no mechanical skills whatsover, and I've never had a problem doing it. If you're paying over $40 for an oil change, you're really letting the dealership screw you.

If you go up to post#2 you will see the prices on the maintenance menu. I now do the oil and filter services myself for under $20 CAD. This includes the 12% sales tax on items as well as the $0.50 environmental fee on the filter and $0.20 environmental fee on each litre of oil.

Oh crap, do I feel silly now! How did I miss that? Anyway, looking at that price menu again, I can't believe that they charge $50.95 to change the cabin air filter. Now that's a real price gouge, and I'm thinking that the only people who'd go for it are those who don't care to learn anything about cars. A cabin air filter costs around $10, and it just takes a couple minutes to install. The owner's manual has a diagram showing how to install it, so you can't go wrong.
