Has anyone started spring detailing yet?

I am getting really antsy to get a start on it .... I think if it stays in the upper 60s tomorrow I am going to go ahead and wash and wax - I don't know about shampooing the inside, but I know at least I need to get the outside done and clean the engine bay. I love spring .... a deeply cleaned and polished car is a happy car :)

Today I started spring cleaning. I cleaned up the engine compartment as I always do this time of the year.

First, I wiped everything down with a sponge and soapy watter to clean off any dirt.
Then, I polished up all smooth surfaces with a bit of Eagle One "Wax As-U- Dry" spray wax and it made most things look almost showroom new.

If you do this every spring, the engine compartment will stay looking new. It only takes a few minutes
I then gave the stock steelies, chrome trim rings, center caps the same treatment.

Now I need some ambition and a nice day to wax the car.

With Toyotafest around the corner I've been cleaning the entire car weekly, each week getting something I missed. Eventually everything that can looks like new again.

I've been holding out. I got a "White Glove" detail package on a Living Social deal. $300 package for $150. You can see the details at http://www.tendercar.com/
They've gotten good reviews, and I'm hoping to watch how/what they do so I can keep up appearances this summer. Want to get through the muddy season and get my new rims and such on before I take it in though.

I used to detail my car when it was newer, but I've gotten tired of it. I'm so terrified of swirl marks that I work so slow. And when I say slow, I mean I take 6-7 hours just to wash and wax my car. I hated how it took me an entire day. So, I've gotten into the habit of having the body shop that repainted nearly half my car to do the detailing. They take extreme measures to avoid swirl marks, and the prices aren't bad (it cost me only $82 plus tax last time). I don't need to clean the inside, since I keep it clean like new. The body shop complimented me on the good condition of my interior.

Waxed the outside a few weeks ago. Been driving through deep rain puddles to try to wash away the winter salt on the under carriage. Really need to get the inside done.

don't know if the paint job on these cars is worth waxing, or if they will just all flake off anyways. I'm really wondering if getting it detailed is a good idea, or just getting the entire thing repainted with a real paint would be better, and just adding 4 or so extra layers of clear coat.
