Anyone have a part # for this?

I was at my local dealer this morning when I happened upon this inside one of the Scion iQs on the floor:

A 3.5mm input jack with a female USB A port. Anyone have a part number for this as well as a place I can order it from? I'd like to put one of these in my '09 5-door LB.

Thanks as always CTScott. Happen to know the pinout of the 3.5mm jack on that part number and if the USB plug has a standard A-female plug on the underside (to plug a USB cable into) or does it have a standard USB A-male wired to the other end of it?

The backside has an connector similar to the Yaris Aux Jack, so you would have to do a little custom cable work to use it.

CtScott does it have 5 wires ? Basically a left input / right input and then some sort of trigger ? For the 3.5 at least.

Yes. The 3.5 is wired like the Yaris one, where you have the L, R, Ground, and a switched input to the deck.

Check out this link to a Tacoma one, which has a separate connector for the USB, which would be easy to connect to:

I think this will be used on an aftermarket headunit. I'll wait for OP to fill us in.

Both of the part numbers (the IQ and the Tacoma one) are just for the Aux Jack. The wiring harness is a separate part number.

Scott do you have the harness part number? I just got a stock 2012 Yaris HU from Garm because it has the USB capability, and I'd like to pop in the USB/Aux OEM fitting in place of my current (unused at the moment) AUX fitting.

No, but the dealer should be able to look it up for you. The harness will likely be crazy expensive as it will be part of the dash harness, but you should be able to order just the connector and the service terminals to populate it.

Is the pinout for the connector listed in the tech manuals? I could probably just rig up a connector the to the USB connection on the back of the radio (it has it's own spot) to an auxiliary USB port

Yes - The pinout is in the Audio EWD.

Solved! Since the 2012 I bought from Garm (model t1817) is a Pioneer, I used the info in the below link and transposed it to this model to add a normal USB jack on the back. Problem solved.

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/audio-...installed.html

Even though the USB connector on the back isn't of quite the same type, the connections on the USB daughter board inside the radio are labeled the same as in that write-up, so I wired up the end from a short USB extender I had and VOILA! USB port.

So I can install my own USB port somewhere and run the cable to that port. As for the AUX, I should be able to use my existing connector from the OEM AUX jack I would think. Thoughts?

(I'll try to make time this weekend to do my own DIY for this model since the board is different from the one in the above write-up)
