LEAD WEIGHTED BLANKETS ON THE FLOORS BABY! thats what you need... hehehe.

I wish toyota used a slightly thicker guage metal for the firewall/floor boards/wheel wells. I would've paid an extra $500 for thicker sheet metal in those three places. It's much easier to prevent an noise problem than to cover it up.

Awesome work SQ - I know it was not your ultimate goal, but any estimate (even rough?) for the db level improvement over stock at highway speeds? This is Xtreme sound deadening, any idea how much weight it adds to the car?

For SQ comps do they ever do rolling (car in motion) judging or is the car always stationary?

Perhaps 3-6 dB

The weight added is only noticable when you open the doors and the trunk lid. It feels a LOT more solid and substantive. It's also foam added to the interior as well, not just dead mat, that really helps with cutting down the noise.

During the competitions they stage your vehicle in "lanes", you are not judged while moving.
I KNOW you car's moving dB's probably dropped by about 10dB... I saw a huge difference when driving on dirt/gravel roads between stock and stripped interior + 2 layers of mat. And it further improved when I put the interior (read: carpet and seats) back in the car.

I bet I have 3-6dB myself. Alas... I also don't have any measurements. I am hopefully that i'll see some more improvement in road noise when I finally get around to doing my front doors, and install the winder vent shades (air noise)

Scrolling down they claim the laminate reduces noise by 4 db.

Awe inspiring work - the one negative I have noticed the more I disassemble and reassemble things is that I seem to be creating new rattles/squeaks where there were none before and I am having a bear of a time trying to isolate them.
I do not have an SQ system, but it is annoying nonetheless.
