I know not to sleep in the back of this car... Sorry you had to find out the hard way!
But a tent is a different story... I would NEVER leave my car… In the summer that is!

I was talking to the guy yesterday trying to get a special Yarisworld price...

But it's already pretty inexpensive!

The tent idea is awesome... surprised you guys don't get it in the States. I wouldn't use it for a tv or running the air conditioning, but the great thing is you'd never have to unpack your car! Just leave all the crap in the cargo area... coolers, bags, whatever... never have to run out of your tent in the rain to get stuff. Very convenient. Its like a tent with extra lockable storage attached!

It is pretty cool, but it is an easy thing to make fun of

Though in my day we used to carry the tent on our backs and hike up the mountain, not drive up there...

Does anyone else think this looks like the Queen from Aliens???

I think it'd be cool. A stand-alone tent requires you store all your gear in the tent if you want access to it, which eats into your sleeping area. With this one, all your gear can stay in the car, but you can still get to it. Handy!

That said, never, EVER use a truck bed tent in the winter. You'll freeze your F'n ass off.... been there, done that!

I like this idea. I showed it to Chuck before too. We both agreed it would be hella cool.

What significant value and use does this tent have over a regular tent?
Please help clarify my confused little mind.
The Yaris is a weather safe, and water proof "extra" room on the tent. Gives you access to all your gear at night without leaving the tent and you could listen to music and operate other 12v gear (TV, coffee maker, microwave, etc..) on the back deck.

It's really pretty cool

I found it searching Google for 'yaris car tent' I believe - well, my camping days are over, actually prefer a cheap motel! At least you can shower & make fun of the decor from the past 5 decades...all mixed together...kinda like an episode of 'Supernatural'

Just a bit too much wear & tear for my tastes, to live out of your car for a few weeks or whatever...I like the idea of the tent, tho, it's pretty cool!

Gotta love that photo...looks like the house I grew up in! Big circular driveway, all brick, double front doors for moving the grand piano in...ah, memories
