2016 Kia Sportage SI 2ltr turbo diesel.

We bought our first Korean SUV and first turbo diesel.

I checked the rivals cx5, rav4 and Honda crv.

Honda's interior just felt unwelcoming small compared to the Kia sportage. It's the kind of interior i would hate long term.

Rav 4 felt rather bland inside and whilst it's probably more reliable the turbo diesel is expensive.

The CX5 well this was our choice at first but thinking it over the car is nice, no doubt. I felt it's kinda over kill and expensive. The base price diesel is expensive.

KIA sportage really like the roomy interior, smooth drive, comfortable and quite.OK it's no sports car.But it's not suppose to be and it's not a reason to buy ir. We will see about reliability but so far I likey.

Huge vehicle, by my standards. I think that my size limit for this class vehicle would be something like a Toyota C-HR, Honda HR-V, or Mazda CX-3.

I hope that it treats you well!

Thanks..

It's a medium SUV. Trust me it feels and drives like a car not a big SUV. And it's a a Korean Turbo Diesel AWD, a first for me! It's not permanent AWD though like Subaru but I can live with that. It's also the most expensive we have ever purchased brand new.

It is $38 990 new we got the base model SI. But we got it down to $36 500, they would add special number plates and full tank of gas. If we put down a deposit.A ploy that worked good work stealership. We said, OK, why not! YOLO!

They then sent in this tall chick to try to get you to buy extra stuff like paint protection an extra 20 bucks a week, we said NO!
Shen tried to sell tint on the windows i said, OK.
Then there was the dash camera front and rear for an extra 20 bucks, i said NO! it's suppose to detect road rage or if your car gets hit, or someone tries to break in you can catch the perpetrator who did it etc.

After that they sent the finance guy in he tried to sell us the income protection for another 20 bucks just in case we lose our jobs or get injured down the road. I haven't decided yet on this one.

Yeah mate.

Believe it or not that's the average price for these kinds of vehicles are brand new over here.

CX-5 is 45-50 k brand new.
RAV4 is 43k and up if it's the top trim.
Hyundai Tucson is 44-48 K
Honda CRV 44k

The interesting thing is Toyota and Honda are actually cheaper than Mazda and Hyundai.

It's ridiculous isn't it. The house prices averages around 600k these are just 3 bedrooms in Sydney.. yikes!! expensive indeed.YGone are the days where you can buy houses for 200 K etc.. But the good thing is diesel prices have lowered i checked the other day.

The price was 1.12 and the lowest was 1.06 bucks per liter.

No we don't!

But after years of diesel being quite a bit more than gas the two are nearly the same.

The other half has a 12 Sportage. He loves it, I hate it. But I'm not partial to Kia or Hyundai cars. Trailer parks are full of them. But to each their own. Enjoy your new ride.

Ya but KIA is closing the ground to the Japanese counterparts believe me.

I have been driving the Sportage it's smooth and quite it's an awesome cruiser.

But I still prefer the Yaris for every day driving i might do a 2zrfe swap on it.

It just lack the horse power.
