I want 42... I can't break 40 (39.86). I only have like 1,200 miles on my car though, so hopefully it'll go up as many have said it does before.

i'm still trying to break 45mpg on a single tank.... I came within .25mpg once. Temps are dropping now, think i'll have to wait until spring/summer to have another chance.

Using DFCO will get you there. I have an auto lb and average 40+ but I do alot of driving.

I only managed 41.59etc... yesterday when i filled up.

I haven't broke 5k miles yet though. I drive a manual and shift before 3k rpms. I also coast whenever i can. I don't go past 60mph either!

Hopefully i can hit the 45mpg mark after i reach 5k miles.

How many miles do you have to put on the car before it reaches it's full potential for mpg?

I use it all the time. There is this awesome hill that I use to get home from classes. I can coast for about 1.3 miles. I also coast to stops signs, lights, etc. I don't idle at all, at most about 30 seconds in the morning to warm up the engine a lil. I turn off my car the second I get to where I am going. I don't speed, I drive 55mph on the highways. I don't rev my engine hard, I never go above 2K (probably more like 1.5K max) but I don't have a tach to verify.

I can't think of anything else to do, lol. I want to break 40 so bad! hahaha

for me gains were very gradual...until I started using DFCO and then I instantly got +10% mpgs (4mpg) which bumped me up to over 40mpg.... since then.... slightly increases... When it was 80+ degrees outside I avg'd 43mpg.... cept for when I did 8hr drives and avg'd around 75mph.

I've heard that you get gains at around 5K, 10K, and 20K. Then that's it.

I think we are judging the mpg for an entire tank, not just one trip....

Aren't we!? Well atleast I was! Obviously I will get great mpg on the freeway only. So I don't say i get whatever MPG that is. I have to do an entire tank of highway/city driving, then get my "real" mpg.

Yea, only full tank MPG folks. I don't care that when you went down a hill you got 9999 MPG, or 45+ MPG when travelling on the highway; that's a useless number that any car can achieve... When DFCO kicks in I get infinite MPG, woot!

Whats DFCO? I've only filled twice so far and I got 35 mpg. How do you guys stand driving so slow haha. The car yearns for speed and I deliver it.
I thought about the coasting bit, so for my next tank I'm gonna aim for a high mpg goal.
