Red face Did I just fry my flasher relay?

Hi all...this is my first post to this forum, but likely wont be my last .
I just bought a small utility trailer (4'x5') to use for camping and such - already had a hitch installed for a bike rack, but I need to install a trailer wiring harness. In attempting to save some cash by doing this myself, I think I may have fried my flasher relay. Here's what happened...
On the rear-light circuit board (the board with the reverse lamp and turn indicator lamp mounted) there are what appear to be 2 male spade connector receptacles next to each of the lamps - I figured this would be perfect for wiring up the harness. To be sure these connectors were wired into the lamps, I got out my circuit tester - I first tried the spade connectors next to the reverse lamp, bingo - worked as I thought. Next I tried spade connector next to the turn signal, and this is where things went sideways...I must have been a tad careless with the tester probe tip and shorted the circuit (there was a faint spark). After that the turns signals / hazards don't work at all, no clicking from the relay, no indicators on the dash, nothin'. I've checked all the fuses, and they're all good...so the only thing I can think of is that the flasher relay itself is blown. Anybody have thoughts on this?
Thanks for reading!
Jon

I haven't looked under my dash, but if the Yaris uses a standard flasher a new one will only set you back a couple of bucks or so.

Unfortunately it doesn't use a standard flasher relay. It's an overly complex component with integrated circuits and who-knows what... Toyota dealer is so far the only source I've found, and they want...sit down... $107 for it!!!
And this thing isn't fuse protected!

Check the 10A HAZ fuse. It feeds the flash relay.

The HAZ fuse is in the fuse panel under the hood by the way.

Thanks so much for the offer 1NYaris1, unfortunately that would be cutting things pretty close...going away early for the long weekend, and I still need to get the wiring harness done, which won't happen until the signals work again...

Did you check the fuse yet?

If the relay assembly is truly fried, I have an extra as well, that I can ship from Connecticut, which might get there a bit faster.

CTScott - I thought for sure I had checked that fuse with my fuse tester, anyhow, this time I pulled it, and sure-enough it was blown. I put in a spare and .... flashers still didn't work! Then I realized I hadn't put the relay module back in. Plug'd her back in and voila...signals!
CTScott, I definitely owe you a cold one!

Thank-you everyone who posted, what a fabulous forum!
