Mountains + Camping + Yaris Meet = Fun?!
So.
I have decided that I will be going up to the mountains just before summer (hopefully on a nice cool weekend! and was wondering if anyone wanted to have the NC meet here, rather than a central location? Then... other people could come and not just us carolinans! ppl from virginia and tenn. and south carolina, kentucky, etc could come! we could meet at the great smoky mountains and have a cook out and then if anyone wanted to we could either camp out with our yaris' and have a group drive etc... anyone up for it? another option is grandfather mountain. Its a bit furthur into NC...1 hr closer towards the coast of NC..... another option is Stone mountain. we could have a ride on the Blueridge parkway... Im open for ideas.

There are several options One could start at the NC Arboretum in Asheville and go to Cherokee on the parkway or reverse . One could start at Brevard and travel Hwy 276 to the parkway . There are campgrounds on the Parkway ( tent and civilized ) One could do half day , whole day or weekend trips
I love Mountain Cruises http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ach_cruise.flv

I'd love it if we can meet in A-ville. My girl loves that place. Me and HTM were trying to hook up with each other on te Dragon last year. We just missed each other, according to photos I saw from Killboy.com. GREAT place to run a car.
Keep me in the loop! I'd love to meet up with some other Yaris' and run through the hills. I live in NE Georgia, so I'm not too far away from the Smokies.

I might be interested if you can make it around the 2nd week of June and in the Smokies. We will be in Gatlinburg for a week. We could easily drive down to Cherokee or something one day.

I would be down for this and having hiked all over up there I know a nice little forest service campground on 215 that is cheap and there is a bridge there over a nice swimming area. It's great. Shower taken care of. I like it and there are several waterfalls close by.

Yea, but you have to stop and take a few trails to them. Several good swimming falls. I was thinking along the lines of july, summer, heat.....cool off at the falls and then camp and eat. There are several free camp spots that can be driven to.

Hmmm.....I think I'm gonna stay at a BnB I like in Robbinsville when we do this. I got too much in my car to leave it on the side of the road while I go up a trail and camp. Just me.

Well where I was thinking of camping you park next to where you pitch your tent and it's a paved lot. The trails are primarily to certain falls and walking distance to one in particular is say 200 yards if that. That is a swimming falls. Distance from that falls to camp by vehicle would be maybe 5-6 miles all via NC-215 and the BRP.
