I drive about 75% highway and average 41 MPG. I have an auto tranny and I'm not yet convinced the auto tranny Yaris uses DFCO. However, auto tranny drivers can utilized VVTi programming to eeek out higher MPG. If the car thinks your in acceleration mode, the timing is set for that. However if the car thinks your in cruise mode (speed maintenence) it will reset the valve timing accordingly and this means higher MPG. So the trick is to get into cruise mode faster. From a red light I will accelerate a bit faster then most up to 2-3 miles over the posted speed limit, then back off the gas peddle until the car reaches the posted limit, then feather the gas peddle from there just to maintain the posted speed. My realtime MPG at 40 MPH is 53+ MPG. When I drive on the freeway, my realtime MPG on flat land at 60 MPH is 46-52 MPG. Following behind a semi truck (drafting) will give me a realtime MPG of 70+.

99% city driving. See sig. Easily the worst mileage in YW (well, maybe except for the auto-x crowd.), more so if you take into account the fact that my engine is a 1.3.

75% city driving I'm only getting 26mpg.
50% I'm getting 32mpg. 32mpg is the best I've ever had, and I've had this consistently, so driving is pretty consistent as well.

I am driving a new car, 2008 sedan with auto transmission. Only 2200 miles on it right now. I hope the mpg improves significantly or I should have bought a corolla.

This tank was 35.81.

Finally broke that 34 mpg average today.

Pretty good for an automatic and pretty much all city driving. 35 mpg here I come.

I work 9 days straight which is 100% city driving and get 35-36 MPG, then I get 5 days off which is 100% highway driving everyday to visit my parents who live 30 miles away who are elderly and I get 38-41 MPG, both with A/C off, except on really hot days. The lower of the two numbers reflects when the A/C is used. No hypermileage, just doing the speedlimit. Hope this helps... I know you wanted 75% city but I would be guessing.

100 % city mileage

I just finished three weeks of work commuting. 33 miles per day. for 15 days. My average mileage was 43 at each fill up. I used all the hypermilling tricks you read about here. I use cruise and in the 16 miles one way I hit about three lights red. I average 40 mph. I changed from Mobil-1 5w-30 to Amsoil 5w-20 today.

I just got 37.25 MPG on 100% city street driving. That was with a lot of red lights too. It's this driving technique that is new to me called driving slower than hell. I shifted at or under 2000rpm's the whole time and kept the car under 65 at all times.

95% city if not higher. Short trips. 31-35 mpg Depending on my mood and destinations. Last tank was 29 tho...Not really concerned since gas is so cheap though. lol.

City mileage depends mostly on how you drive. Highway mileage depends on how you drive and on what speed you're driving.

I can get 40+ in the city without trying too hard.

Highway... just depends on the speed. Keep the speed down below 60, it can be 48 or more. Cruising interstate speeds of 75-80, it will be closer to 38.

I am guessing that city driving on the first tank is about 80%.
It's hard to say if I am really city driving, as the road to work has some
stretches of 45 mph and very few stoplights. With that said, my first tank
of gas yielded a 41.1 mpg !!!

My old car, a 92 Geo Metro, got around 44-46 mpg city, and 48-51 mpg hwy.
My new Yaris is not as good on gas, but is a much nicer car.
