Ham Radio in 2013 hatchback

I just purchased a 2013 4 door hatchback Yaris. Having trouble figuring the best way to run antenna wire, good spot to mount a radio, etc. Who on here has mounted a ham radio, CB, whatever and how did you do it?

I mounted an Icom IC-2820H in my 2009 3DR Hatchback.
The remote head is using a cellphone type suction cup holder on the windshield.
Not the best, as others have told me that if the pillar airbags go off, that
would become a projectile. I bought a goose neck mount that goes onto
the seat bolt. Couldn't budge it, so had the Toyota dealer put it in, though
they broke one of the other seat bolts trying for leverage. After all that,
I found that with the goose neck, I can't move the passenger seat as far
forward as I used to. Not too much a problem as I am usually alone in the
car. Been thinking of a Scoche magnetic mount and either have it
behind the steering wheel where some have put their tachometers,
or to an air vent.

I mounted the transceiver below the seat. Well, actually, just laying
below the driver's seat. Need to get that secured.

For power, I ran to the battery just like the younger folks did for their
audio amplifiers. It's run all the way to the back of the car, as I was
originally going to mount the body in the spare tire area, but changed
my mind.

For the antenna, I used a lip mount on the back hatch. The purists say to
drill a hole, but I didn't want to do that. Now the the car is 10 years old,
I guess I could mount one there. However, with my underground parking,
I would have to settle for a 1/4 wave antenna. I had a mag mount for
a while, but would have to take it down to get into the underground parking.

I'll have to work on learning how to post pics here. Have to be hosted somewhere?

I'm working on much of the same - if you're comfortable dropping the headliner and drilling a hole in your roof, that's what I'd recommend. Then run the coax down the A or B pillar (I ran it down the drivers' A pillar) and from there to where you want to install the RF deck. (Depending on what you have, this could go under the seat or is fixed to where the control panel is). Head I haven't figured out yet, as I've only really operated in the car with a portable radio.

I have been using a handheld.
However I do have a trailer hitch and been thinking about that. just run the cable up thru
spare tire plug or plug in floor/firewall depending on base placement.

You all are making me think I should mount my IC-706MKIIG in the new to me Yaris...(I might have to figure out where to mount the Automatic Antenna Tuner too...
I haven't had it mounted in a vehicle in eons...so that would be fun again...I also have an original 706 as well, or maybe my old TM-G707 as I mostly use UHF these days anyway.
