Yeah! I meant the Turbo 1st Gen TS which is 145hp at the crank plus like 200lbs ligther.
My brother has one 2006 turbo 1st get TS and couple of friends have other 2.

The turbo 1st gen TS does a flat 15 sec on the 1/4 mile while the best I've done with my NA 1.8 is 15.85

Oh... and the 1.8 would kick the ass of a NA first gen TS from the start even with the weight advantage of the 1st gen TS

Yes... but there is no real advatage of the dual VVT-i feature in regards to performance.

The addition of the VVT-i on the exhaust side of the engine was intended for better emmisions.
I believe the little extra power from the new TS comes from the increased displacement plus probably better flow technology within the engine.

On the other side the new upcoming engines with Valvematic do provide better performance due to the cams lift feature.

The same 2ZR engine but with valmatic has an extra 10-12 hp at the top of the power band. And that is in it's stock form. Those engines tend to benefit alot from bolt on mods (I/H/E).

That front bumper is so much better looking than our 2009 front bumper. I wonder if Purdy Motors would be willing to ship parts to the US.

not really man, they never have those kind of parts in stock for this version of the yaris (or any special version of a particular car)
they would have to bring 'em from Japan and it takes them up to a month for a single part to get here so it would be a lot easier for you or anybody to import them directly from Japan

i had a '02 corolla TS before the yaris, got into car crash and it took them 4 weeks just to get all body parts here!!

Good to know. I travel to Costa Rica every once in a while, so I thought I'd check with them the next time I'm down there. I thought it might be cheaper to have a bumper shipped from CR rather than from Japan, but if they don't stock them in CR, it would be more expensive...
