I Need Opinions!

Tell me if I'm being too picky. Many of you know about my run in with the local wildlife, and my problems with getting a carbon fibre hood. I picked this up on Saturday from the shipping company, which is another issue to deal with. Is this an adequate representation of a Seibon CF product? Should there be a "seam" running across the hood?

Looks like it was folded before they used the Carbon Fiber. That's a very cheap way of saving leftovers for products and it should have come off a roll rather than folded. Send it back.

Call Customer Service at Seibon, as for exchange or money back...

That for sure is the worst hood I have seen come from them yet!
Even my old one wasnt flawed that bad, minor stuff on mine, but not that drastic.

I sent an e-mail to the dealer and copied Seibon- the dealer returned my query with an offer of 100 bucks as the rep from Seibon didn't see a defect, and the offer was "to maintain customer satisfaction"

imo seibon sucks for looks, unless you are paying big money for a car product you run the risk of getting a the short end of the stick. Thats why people who can pick out their products always get the best. If I were you I would keep fighting it, or try and sell it if the hood fits properly, somone will want to have a painted hood.

Will they allow you to return it? I say return it then buy it some other vendor, and make it known that you're going somewhere else. Even if you have to pay $100 more than what they charged, it would be worth it to not deal with that crease!

And no, you're not being picky. If I spent $600+ on a hood, I wouldn't want any freakin' lines in it that shouldn't be there!

F...THAT! send it back, it should NOT look like that, I bought a "B" Stock hood before and they look much better than that. there should be no seam.

Ok good news- I get the car back mid next week- I spoke w/ Mikey at Seibon and they agreed to exchange the hood, but they have none in stock, and don't expect any until Christmas. They also agreed to let me drive the car with the new hood until the exchange can be made.
The shop where I purchased the hood is contacting the shipping company about a claim for the delay in shipping. It took almost 10 days for a standard second day delivery. I'm not unrealistic and didn't expect it in two days, but I feel I should have gotten it within 5-6 days.
The original hood that I purchased through e-bay and was broken by ups has been located and processed- I 'm expecting a check for that any day now.

The insurance co (Allstate) has been great, along with the rental company (Enterprise).

The car they gave me is a 2.5 Altima. For 30 bucks a day-paid by the insurance co. I was at first surprised that I got such a large car, I was expecting an Aveo. I really don't like the Altima- it's an attitude car, IMHO. The pedals are too responsive, the seating position, while comfortable, isn't really comfortable. The push button start is nice, but the trunk space is limited. Not a car I would want to DD

Carbon fiber really isnt a Cosmetic mod but a performance. IMO that defect does not affect what its ment to do. Reduce Weight.

Yeah you could take the cosmetic hit. But really in these days the way economy stands. Just take the 100 and ad it to your saving for garms Performance parts. Or you could save up for a 4AGE
