New 2007 Paint Condition

How many of you folks found this to be true upon brining your new 2007 Yaris home?

I found the car to look "new" shiny, etc, but when I touch the paint, I feel very small bumps, as though there's a very small amount of paint blow-by or grit or something. Now you can't actually see this "contamination" but you can feek it with your fingers, and I made sure to feel the paint where there is no dust. I even felt these micro-bumps after washing the car!

I had to go get some body shop clay and I "clayed" the entire body with some specialy spray, and after doing this, I felt the paint again, and it felt sily smooth, like a baby's bottom. I noticed that the clay showed very small particles that were "sheared" off the surface of the body, and wow, what a big difference this made to the touch. Even before waxing the body, the body felt as though it had a coat of wax after claying the entire body.

It seems our cars come from the factory with micro grit on the paint, or perhaps this grit gets picked up during transit from salt air, or pollution?

For the Yari's coming to the US, where do they originate? Japan? Ohio?

Please give me info if you can, or share your own experiences in regard to the paint...again, one cannot actually see this grit but you can sure feel it...it can feel very subtle though so when you feel your paint do it slow and concentrate. After claying and waxing, the color seems deeper and more vibrant, and the paint feels silky smooth....something that I could not feel before I clayed.
