New Rims, What About The Spare?
4 new rims a while ago but never purchased the 5th rim for the spare. Now whenever I travel long distances I'm paranoid that if something happens I will have to either run to the servo with a flat or put the stock back on even though it is different diameter.
What have other people done? |

Well your dounut is little smaller than your factory rims anyways. Your spare is just that a spare for emergency. Its not meant to be used for long distance. Even though i see people on the freeway every day driving in the fast lane with thier baby doughnut on. Even though it says do not exceed speeds of 45mph right on the tire.

Anyway, I have already tried putting in a stock tire/wheel in the back to no avail. |

the spare, is just a spare and is there for emergencies. So no need to spend more money on the 5th tire and rim. :)

Agreed. Also carry a CAA card as backup.

Even if it could fit, chances are that would be $300 worth of rim and tire sitting out of sight, never to be used.

Love it. I got AAA+ and they'll tow you anywhere within 100 miles. I did away with the spare and put a recessed sub box in its place.

I've got 4 - 16"x7" rims and one 14" spare. I'm going to take the spare out and only bring it along on long trips.

check your lugnuts. sometimes the custom wheel lugs don't work with the factory spare. i keep a set of stock nuts in the glove box.
