Yaris - Wobble/Vibration... Help?

Good day,

I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris 4 door HB.

When driving highway speeds 80-110KM/hr (50-70MPH), the car wobbles/vibrates, only on acceleration (regardless if aggressive or subtle). Pretty sure it's not a warped rotor or wheel balance because it's not the steering wheel that wobbles.

I took it to a mechanic, he suggests it's the transmission and for me to take it to a trans shop. Before doing so, I wanted to hear if there were any other suggestions or concur that ya.... probably the transmission? If so, what in the transmission could be broken? Worth fixing?

When around 90km/hr i'll drop it down to 3 gear (out of overdrive) and there will still be a wobble... maybe not as bad.. hard to tell.

Thank you!

Probably a bad cv axle. Get the front tires safely off the ground, put the car in gear and get it up to 50 mph and lightly press on the brakes to load the axles. Does it shake? If yes then look to see if the engine/trans are moving side to side when its vibrating. That indicates that the inner cv joint is binding.

I appreciate the response. No vibration during breaking on highway speeds.... Only vibration/wobbles during acceleration.

Also, going from Park to Drive or Reverse... the gear change isn't 100%. It's a little abrupt and maybe a clang.

My test isn't testing for braking vibration, it's loading the drivetrain to see for side to side movement. The inner cv joints plunge as the car goes over bumps, if they are tight then you'll have binding issues.

only during accell is typically a cv joint regardless of what make/model, the only other options would be potentialy a wheel bearing or shaft bearing...
