after the high water crossing

I went through about 2 foot of water yesterday going to work. (I already know wasn't the smartest thing to do) But made it through fine! Next stop sign breaks didn't work. Water must have got into the drums but was fine after that light. Now when the car is cold the clutch is REAL chattery or grabby. Anyone else have that problem. I also have two codes now. One is a 606 or 02 sensor code and the other is a 138. I guess thats some kind of ecm I hope the ecm drys out. Anyone else have problems like this if they have went through high water?

The P0138 DTC is for the O2 sensor and the P0606 is an internal ECM range check error for the throttle position circuit.

I would consider removing the ECM and popping the cover (4 screws and some silicone hold the cover on) and drying it out well. The best way to remove water from circuitry without causing more issues is to put it in a sealed container (or large ziplock bag) with white rice. The rice will absorb the moisture without leaving a conductive residue.

Ok thanks, Does it sound like my clutch is fubard? I would guess that these cars have the spring hubs in the disk. Maybe the springs are shot? I guess i'll drive it until the clutch slips. No more high water for me lol.

I am not sure with the clutch. I have never gotten one that wet. I kind of doubt that the springs would get damaged that quickly, so it may just be that the disc and pressure plate need to dry out.

Did a oil change tonight since i had 10,200 miles on the oil and crawled up under the car around the down stream o2 sensor. Pulled the tape off the wires and they were soaked and chaffed sp? or rubbing together. Cut and spliced + heat shrank and codes are gone so far :)

Might want to check differential/transmission fluid and see if its milky (water contaminated) by taking a sample out the fill port.

Where is the fill port located? The reason I ask is that if its possible to take out a sample to check the condition of the transmisson oil as there is no dip stick for checking like in the 1st Gen Yaris?

Thanks

This only works on the manual transmission with the drain/fill ports. http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8912

The automatics might? be sealed so this is not be so easy (or even needed?).
