My 2012 Yaris LE

Hey guys,

Been lurking and making posts, figured I'd show you all my ride. It's not very exciting, but someday...someday haha. Even stock I am loving this thing to death, it's wicked fun to drive and looks sharp. Plus, I bought it in February and have yet to see another '12 Yaris cruising the streets.

Took these pictures after I de-badged + washed it. The wash wasn't as good as it could have been, I was in a hurry and didn't even have a chance to wax it. Also found out the car wash detergent I'm using is an absolute wasp magnet. Next week I plan on detailing it, living off a gravel road with farm vehicles and big-rigs from a local gravel pit certainly doesn't do any favours for the dust situation inside and out. I already noticed a few paint chips, grrrr. I'll have to get a touch-up stick from my dealer and nip those in the bud. Living in the the heart of Canada's agricultural belt comes with its downside, lots of farm equipment and trucks = lots of thrown stones.

In any case, a list of planned mods:
  • Lowering springs (probably KSports, cause I'm a poor student)
  • Konig Candy Gold rims + tires
  • Weapon R Header
  • Weapon R Intake
  • Megan Racing Exhaust
  • New Headunit
  • Install my 12" Alpine Type R
  • Install my Alpine Type S speakers
  • Short Shift Kit
  • Rear Sway Bar
  • Window tint
  • Possible CF-wrap for mirrors
  • Wink Mirror

Yeah, hopefully it won't be stock for too much longer!

I'm in beautiful, flatter-than-a-pancake Manitoba. Not the most thrilling place to drive in, in all honesty.

Thanks for the compliment; your Yaris is really sick. Was sad to read in that other thread you're contemplating selling it.

Looking good TP...

You might PM pennyracer about a Weapon R header. He doesn't like it and wants to dump it cheap.

Thanks mate! I've PM'ed him.

Currently I'm torn on how much I want to do to my Yaris right now, I'm looking at buying a 1988 VW Fox from a co-worker for a project car, and keeping the Yaris as my respectable daily-driver.

Had the day off work, so I spent a few bucks and decided to do a little bit of cosmetic modification, on the cheap:

The bumpers off, what's this nutter planning?

Oooh, shiny first coat!

Second coat...

Reinstalled! Not bad.

I ran out of paint and did not have a chance to do the fog covers, also did not get to adequately cover the grille, you can see some black poking through on the top horizontal slats on the bottom grille. So I will be grabbing another can of paint to finish it up. But in all I like the effect, I had originally though of doing something like orange, but decided it would probably look very out-of-place. Maybe I'll change it down the road to something like bronze, for now I like the white. Although I will do the fog covers and touch-ups soon, for now I like it.

I'm hoping to add body molding, I've already got some scratches from less-then-careful people in parking lots. Grumble.

It is a sexy little car. I remember walking into my local Toyota dealership all set for a Corolla (Which is also an awesome car), and seeing this little guy. I hadn't seen Toyota's redesign, or even knew about their redesign for 2012, so I was like "What is that glorious machine sitting before me?" And I was sold, haha. Salesman had an easy job that day He's a friend of the family, so it was all good.

What do you guys think of the grille paint? Obviously I need to do the fog covers (or just get fogs) still, but so far does it look cool or stupid?

I didn't know the back windshield fluid nozzle is off-center. How does it do dispersing fluid?

It does fine; I've never had a problem with it.
