so....what are we calling it?
hey! haven't checked-in for a while and decided to see what kind of activity is going on. i was looking on toyota's site the other day that the 2017 yaris iA is available. from reading it looks like a mazda2 with a toyota front. anyways, i'm guessing this is the new 'yaris sedan'?
i'm still rolling with the 07 sedan(202k miles) and the 01 echo coupe. just was curious if anyone here has an iA and what their thoughts are? |

the grill is the only part i've got an issue with(since it's REALLY a mazda is there any way to order a mazda2 front end from overseas?).
i've got both the gen1 and gen2 and completely agree with you! i'll be ordering some konis soon for the echo and maybe hit up an autocross. |

I don't like Mazda as it is, but I test drive one before I bought my Elantra and absolutely hated it in every way. It makes my automatic Yaris feel like a rocket and there really is zero room for rear passengers unlike the Yaris, too.
Ended up with a used Elantra... but that's another mistake for another time. It's too bad the Yaris L can't be a stick and a 5 door at the same time.

I've driven manual 2's and 3's from Mazda and both are pretty good

I love Mazda because of their focus on driving dynamics. I dislike that Toyota is selling it though. I would've bought one if it was a Mazda and they offered it as a 5 door hatchback.

that's funny. the reason I didn't buy a mazda2 is because they don't come in a 2 door! (in US) I also wanted a fiesta, but again, ford would not sell me a 2 door.

Haha yeah, I've had nothing but coupes for 10 years, and I could care less about them now. I'm a sedan/wagon kinda guy.
