drove a SLR McLaren at the track yesterday

Got a chance to take a Mercedes SLR McLaren on the track for about 30 laps yesterday. Here's my writeup:

http://rage2.westsideblogs.com/2007/...e-slr-mclaren/

What a blast. I've driven a lot of fast cars at the track before, but I was surprised at how easy the SLR was to drive at the limit. Compared to a Carerra GT, it has the same performance but much easier and more consistent.

I'll try to post more pics from the event, tons of eye candy. I was busy instructing most of the day so I didn't get to take a lot of pics but there were a billion cameras there, so once I get more pics from friend's cams I'll post 'em up.

nice, I also love this car, have been in some pretty fast machines myself, but nothing like a SLR....I love how the exhaust just dumbs out the side from the headers

I bought the Yaris for my brother's birthday, his first car.

I'm in between cars right now, driving an E55. Having a hard time deciding what to get next.

Black... haha all my cars are black. Hopefully in a year or so the prices drop enough where it's affordable!

Wow, I've only seen one in person. Love that car.

Auto only sucks in a way, but if you have the money to buy one you can buy another car with a manual when you want to row your own gears.

What a sexy car! I guess if Daimler Chrysler can dump Chrysler and Freightliner (the worst road tractor made today) they will concentrate on uping the quality of not only there base vehicles, but there more exotic entries.

I am fluent in low German (pre-war) and just like any other state the dialect is slightly different among locals.
