just bought a Yaris, keyless entry question

I bought my Yaris last night off an old deer, she gave a single key and a bunch of 3 keys, one of which had keyless entry buttons on it.
Today i checked all the keys, 2 of them including the 1 with the keyless entry buttons did not fit the car. That leaves me with 2 keys.
My question is should my Yaris have keyless entry, i've searched the net but found nothing.

The keyless entry receiver for your RHD 02/03 is located under the dash above the steering column. Connector W4 in the diagram below is where it would be connected to. You may be able to shine a flashlight (torch) up under the dash to see if it is present. Otherwise, if you want to PM me the VIN for you car I can run it through the EPC to see if it indicates that the car was built with it.

Thanks CTScott, after a conversation with my local Toyota dealer i've discovered that my car definitely has Remote central locking, but, and it is a big but,it will cost £200 or more to get a new one sorted as i don't have the original fob!
Can i get a new one for less somehow?
I really want remote central locking but i dont know if its worth paying that much for it

Is the dealer quoting you £200 for just a fob?

In that case, I would go with an aftermarket keyless entry system, which over here could be purchased for around $50 USD. With existing power locks, installation is fairly simple with only about 8 wires needed to be tapped to existing wires.

Hi I have one of the cheap aftermarket key less entry systems for my 2000 GS. Can anyone help me with regards to what wires and where. Know the drivers side kick panel comes off but what colours do I Splice into.

How the hell do I work out which wires from the key system actually wire into the yaris? The wiring diagram that came with it is pants.

Would I just be better getting a wireless receiver and cable from a breakers and just wireing that up to the door control box and then getting a key to program?

Does the other end of connector from the wireless box just connect somewhere elseunder the dash or is it wired in.

AHHHHHHHH All I want is remote central locking on my reliable 2000 yaris.

thanks in advance

I don't have access to a European MK1 Yaris to be able to document the installation of a remote starter or keyless entry system on one. There are also wiring differences between the pre and post facelift ones as well as for the different engine configurations.
