))) new TS exhaust question (((

hey guys

i did a cat back exhaust on my TS , 57mm pipe all the way to the back , kept the OE resonator in , but got a megan racing rear exhaust muffler , car pulls alot stronger from the bottom , but seems to be lacking on top a little now , should i have gone smaller ? like 50mm ? as the OEM pipe size is approx 45mm from the factory , i feel from pull away its much stronger , but seems to fade out at high speeds a little , will a smaller exhaust pipe work better ? should i give the ECU time to learn first ? should i go smaller to 52mm mabye ? or 50mm ?

57mm is too wide unless you are FI. 50mm would be closer to what is recommended for NA setups.

thx for the reply buddy, FI ?

yeah , i know i have a 1800cc TS , but the 57mm seems to be to big , OEM is 45mm from the center resonator , you think 50mm will be ok ? will i loose power ? should i rather put the OEM piping back with my aftermarket rear muffler only?

FI = Forced Induction (i.e. turbo)
50mm is fine. Not sure how going any wider will help matters.

i checked on the net , all the 1zzge motors aftermarket exhaust sizes are 60.5 mm , the 1zzge is na , and runs a little more KW , but less torque , so then in theory the 57mm on my 1.8 should be ok ? or at very least , i should go down to 53mm ? as i see the 1.5 yaris has a 50mm sizing on its aftermarket axel back systems from places like greddy.
