2010 coupe Yaris power outlet not working

Hello everyone,

A couple of days ago I found out the power outlet does not work in my Yaris. It seems to have build some sort of rust. Does anyone have any idea of what I could had happened to it? I did get it from a dealer less than a month ago so I think I can call them.

It is not uncommon for the inside of the outlet to rust. Check the 15A CIG fuse in the fuse panel that is under the bottom of the dash to see if it is popped.

So all i have to check is if the fuse wires are broken (not touching), correct?

Correct - The metal piece inside of the plastic should be complete.

It doesn't seem broken but it looks like if its burned, literary like if someone held the metal parts over fire.

I'll replace it by the spare 15 on the front.

Hey Scott, I'm sorry to revive this thread now. I don't know why I didn't posted my problem, but after placing the new fuse the power outlet still didn't work. I'm guessing I will have to remove the panels and do some work. Do you think I can follow this DIY: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9431 ?
Might I need additional tools?
My car has the same panel and the outlet is in the same spot. I will replace the outlet itself because it looks like this

That DIY would be fine for getting at it to replace it.

Fixed!

I don't know if it was necessary, but I disconnected the battery anyways. Then opened the front panel and thought I was going to have to replace the power outlet, little did I know the cable supplying power was disconnected .

Previous owner probably messed with something in there.

Thanks for the help!!!
