Quick question I have about all these head unit radio systems..
Do any of them support the new digital radio format.

I was surprised to learn that my 2010 Yaris factory stereo is still only analog when all of our stations had made the switch to digital over 2 years ago now.

So if I was to replace my factory stereo unit with one of these fancy head units with the gps and dvd etc.. do they have digital?

Yes , it's a very good headunit , the installation was very easy with no cutting wires , and everything fitting in about 25 minutes !!!

And the price is very good for this much operations.I believe that the value for monay is 10/10 !!!

I got this radio for about $250.00 and the costume dash cost about $33.00. Had issues figuring out that the stock dash is not too friendly with aftermarket radios.

I just got my HU the other day - An Alpine IDA-X305S.
Its the beginning. Next step, amps :)

I laboured over which way to go for this. In the end, I figured an ipod only solution (no CD input) was the best option for me.

From what Im reading CDs are being phased out soon anyway, and I cannot remember the last time I actually put one into my old HU!

Also, with lossless audio rips now going onto my ipod, I dont have to worry about "Crappy compressed ipod sound' anymore and the whole setup has given a new lease of life to my previously-retired 140GB iPod classic.

Now to go back through my recordings and albums and start attaching all the artwork to them :)

I couldnt really tell you. I know an installer who did the work for me.
He was going to feed th ipod cable through the glove box, which apparently is what most people do, But i figured itd be better for me in the allotted space underneath the HU, so I can easily remove it when I leave the car.
