Cowl Top Ventilator Removal (Piece above brake fluid reservoir)

Did search here and just found a pdf exploded view of the three parts of the cowl top ventilator and various clips. Seems the part over the brake/clutch fluid reservoir should remove by itself so you don't have to remove wipers to do simple maintenance. The front of his piece on mine lifts easily after squeezing the two obvious clamps, but the rear of the piece seems very stuck to the rear driver's side piece (with the holes for the wipers.) Thanks for any suggestion on removing this piece or the whole 3-piece Cowl Top Ventilator.
