Sound when accelerating in 2nd and 3rd

When I'm accelerating in 2nd and third going up on a slight incline I can hear a ping like noise coming from the trans/engine. It's sounds similar to a pinging but more faint. I'm fixing to hit the 5k mark, should I ask the dealer when I go in for servicing?

Was this a one time thing or does it happen every time in this situation?

i think i know what you're saying. is that a 1.3L engine that you have? if so, that's what i have. yeah it sounds like a slight pinging, but its normal i should say. just make sure that you dont underrev when shifting to higher gear. i was concerned with this for a good while, changed to premium unleaded and the sound became more faint. havent tried super premium, even higher octane (97), maybe its a case of low octane.

It has the 1.5, it's made this sound since driving it home from the dealer. You can only hear with the fan and radio off. I really don't think it's a low octane or bad gas, i think it could be the syncros in the trans or an exhaust leak.

Could it be that the combustion chamber already has a hole/leak in it? Sometimes, the intake valve quality is sacrificed by the manufacturer in order to bring manufacturing costs down.

same noise here too. Any octane, hot or cold weather. I think the dealer will tell you its normal behaviour for the car. Check your owners manual, it indicates this may happen.
Not a showstopper by any means though.
Maybe there is a little person living under the hood and rattling small steel balls in a glass jar.
