Pulsating Vibration

My ’09 yaris sedan has a pulsating vibration only in 5th gear going 60-65mph (2500-2800 RPM) range.

I thought I saw a TSB on some kind of vibration before but now I can’t find it.

When I push the clutch in, the slight vibration goes away. So it isn’t an off balance wheel or a bad tire. I’m thinking it has to do with the engine or transmission, since it goes away when the car is in neutral. The vibration is present on acceleration and deceleration.

Anyone have any ideas as what would be causing the pulsating vibration. It pulsates about ever 1-1.5 seconds, very slight vibration that you can feel through the whole car. Not the steering wheel, but on the floor pans and seats.

Thanks in advance for any input. Its greatly appreciated.

could be a natural harmonic? I don't know why you rule out alignment issue or tire balance.

I ruled that out because it is related to RPM's. If I push the clutch in, the vibration goes away.

When I accelerate up to 70mph, the vibration is there, then push the clutch in and coast down to 55mph, no vibration. Speed back up to 70, vibration accelerating, keep the clutch engaged and cost down to 55, the vibration is still there.

Seems like a lot of other people are having the same problem. I found this thread after doing some more searching.

My car has the vibration too. I just ignore it after I realized that 60mph vibration comes standard with all Yaris.

+1. Normal engine harmonics. My Tanabe exhaust "fixed" mine!
