Rattle when Reving

Does anyone have a bit of a rattling noise when you rev?? It started on my auto this winter time.... I dont know if I have broken something or damaged the engine during these cold winter months....

I have/had this problem with V8 grand marquis... I was told its carbon build up and the remedy was fuel injector cleaner... for the marquis... it helped a little but it came back...

Now. on my yaris it isnt loud but its certainly new... and noticeable when the stereo is off.... Is it just struggling in the cold weather or what??

Does it happen only after you've first cranked it on a cold start or even when the engine is warm?

Usually a rough idle tells you that you need to run a "Fuel System Cleaner." A rattle suggest that something is loose. A misfire would suggest an ignition problem.

Fuel System Cleaners like Gum Out, Regane or Chevron, Techron remove carbon. Fuel Injector Cleaners just unclog injectors.

The "rattle" may be the normal slight amount of pinging that the knock sensor allows before it retards the timing. I hear it all the time. Means the engine's running at its best efficiency.
