Megan Axleback Gasket

Today at my service appointment, the mechanic showed me that i had an exhaust leak on the "joint" where the my axle back exhaust connects with the rest of the exhaust system. He said I needed a new gasket. I walked under the car and looked at it as well. Sure enough it looks like the gasket is gone.

Does anyone know which gasket I should buy? and maybe some tips about how to make this not happen anymore...?

Thanks in advance!

oh and I paid @29.xx that includes the tax AT THE DEALERSHIP for my oil change.

Its a "slip over dounut" style gasket that slides onto the end of the mid-pipe and the axle back flange is flared so the "dounut gasket" seats into it and when the 2-bolts are torqued down they seal up . I'd try and loosen the bolts and see it the axle back isn't seated right on the gasket the re-tighten the bolts . My nitto mid-pipe to hks hi-power axle back had a slight leak at the gasket and I un-bolted , re-seated the flanges and re-torqued the bolts and bingo bango no leak. Its pretty hard to blow this gasket out but if its shot its like 30 bucks from toyota fyi , hope this help ya .

I appreciate it! I'll have to take a closer look later on this month. I'm sure it can wait a couple days! I'll get some pics up too.

I actually had this same issue with my Megan Exhaust, it seems that it just cant keep sealed...mine blew out from the side, causing a leak. Which sounded horrible.

Something I've done in the past is to coat the new gasket in that orange permatex gasket maker just before installing. It seems to help seal them, and keep them from falling apart.
