Toyota doesn't offer an OEM one, so it has to be an aftermarket one, installed by the dealer or a 3rd party contractor. I was just curious about the brand, as I've never had one hang on me before, and I've installed about a dozen of various brands on my cars and friends' cars.

oh. It's possibly the dealer that did the install then. Maybe it was the bitter cold that caused the hang?
I'll check for the brand name and post if I find out.

My guess is that the remote starter unit is faulty. It may have security features that are effecting your remote locking.
Many Toyota dealer installed accessories are from aftermarket suppliers so perhaps some digging will uncover the manufacturers website and some troubleshooting tips. If not, I'd tow it to the installing Toyota dealer for diagnostics.
