Lost my Yaris Yesterday
I lost my car of 8 years with only 150,000 miles on it. There was black ice on the road and I started to lose control. For a second, I thought my tire blew out. Instead of doing the right thing, I stepped on the brakes then tried to veer to the right. I was afraid of drifting into the opposite lane and crashing head on with another car. So, I swerved off the road and could have been alright if not for a twenty foot log on the side of the road. I wasn't scared of hitting the log, but upon impact, the car launched in the air and landed upside down. I was shocked but not hurt. The first thing you think is get out and I tried the power window and thankfully it worked. I crawled out and knew instantly the car was beyond saving. I'm pissed. It was the first day of december and about 31 degrees. I had driven on icier and snowier roads before and never experienced a loss of control as yesterday. I'm still in shock this happened and I wasn't injured. I had intended to keep the car for another 100,000 miles. It was a great car. See the link for the accident pics. https://reichi.blogspot.com/2017/12/...loved-car.html |

Wow, that's crazy. I'm glad that you are okay at least.
I am so glad that I have never opted to live in snow/salt country. Seems like more trouble than it is worth, overall. |

Bugger. That's no fun. It's amazing how quickly it goes from warm car and enjoying yourself to cold, dark, and sore huh? I've been upside down too (not in a Yaris).
Time for another Yaris? |

Yet another Yaris Saves its owner from a serious injury in an accident. I hope you’re able to find another one to your liking.

Sorry to hear about your car and glad you made it out unscathed. You quick decision-making resulted in a much better outcome than it could have been. On the bright side, you get to test drive more Yaris's - assuming you're replacing with another.

So sorry about your Yaris, but I'm glad you're okay, Tippy. You can replace a Yaris, but a broken neck is forever. Let us know what you get next. Best of luck to you.

Holy smokes, glad to see you weren't seriously injured. On the bright side, new cars are fun!
