How old are you?

I was in the same boat when I was in High School/beginning of college. I used weight gainers, but when I started slacking off eventually... Weight gain sucks when it's fat.

There aren't any shortcuts in life that don't have consequences.

Yeah, I wouldn't recomend any weight gainers. Stick to plain old whey protein. Work out hard and eat your calories don't drink them. The protein powder is just an easy way to get the amount of protein your body truly needs to gain solid muscle. Fats and empty calories won't make you have solid gains, you'll just get fat. You just need protein and hard work and you will progress. Weight "gainers" are crap in my opinion.

It's more about what you do than what you eat. Increase your calorie intake a bit and workout a lot more. When you're working out all the time and you feel hungry, eat.

Don't forget, never stop working out once you start. You'll get fat.

It has to be a life commitment. You can't ever expect to get huge and then stop working out and stay that way. It is a life commitment.

Minimize the cardio and maximize the lifting for your muscle mass. You don't want to gain fat. You should be getting your body weight in grams of protein if you are really wanting progress. So add up the protein in your meats, eggs, etc and your powder and it should total your body weight in grams. You may want to look into some supplements like creatine and glutimine. These are the basics and I am very please with the results of both. Take your multi vitamins and pick up an issue of Muscle Fitness.

By the way I mix my protein with water, I was going through 4 cartons of Soy Milk a week. You get used to the water.
the empoyee suggested Mass-Tech since it had more calories than the other stuff. i'm also going to try to be eating more things that has more protein in it. i eat a lot of meat already (work at a bbq place), but i think i need to eat more eggs.

water...yeah, everyone tells me to stay away from that...some of them said that it'll cause constapation (don't think i spelled that right).

if i remember correctly, Muscle-Tech's Mass-Tech has 1000 calories per serving. lol...but their serving size is waaaaay tooooo much powder. makes it like "liquid cement."

i think Mass-Tech is both a weight gainer and muscle builder. it has a lot of calories and grams of protein.

yea it is a big effing commitment........i was on this shake for about 1.5 month and i wanted to gain a bit of fat first then start workin out.....i gained 1kg a week which was good since i was still eating the same and not working out. i stopped cuz the shake is sooo damn nasty, i would gag everytime i would try to finish the drink in 1 min. That shake had i think 800cal per serv which was good cuz more calories means more weight gain.....people think its the fat intake which is so wrong.

anyway about 6 months ago i tried a shake with 250 cal per serv, i gained NOTHING.......so ya :)

different diets for different people......not all same diets will work since everyone is different....
