I have XM Sat Radio in my truck, had it since it came out. I can't live without it now... laughing.... What is normal radio? ha!

You can use any clear radio station to get the signal from If you go and get it installed at a radio store they will program a clear station in for you. No worries there....

I'm going to guess and say that it isn't Sat Radio ready.

bikergal, did you look at Sirius before choosing XM?
I'm looking at both right now & it's a tough call. Stern's ok, but not a deciding factor for me. I've read about some western Canadians getting better reception with Sirius over XM (mountains), but again not really a deciding factor for me where I live.
What brand/type of hardware do you have? Of course I want hardware I can use in the car & in the house.

Hi Dylanby... nope, I went right for XM. When I got it over 4 years ago XM was cheaper than Sirius. That is why I chose XM. I still wouldn't switch to Sirius. I like XM's lineup way better.

I have it going through my Pioneer head unit. I have a little box (Pioneer also) under my seat that has the antenna going out of it and then another wire going to the head unit. The antenna is a little black magnet that sits on the roof. I get great reception. Only time it cuts out is in tunnels or if you go under the overhang of a bank

My xB's stereo is satelite ready and I was thinking about getting that option. However, I don't know if I should go through the dealer for that or through a store, such as Best Buy or Circuit City.

Oooh, Nascar vs NFL.

Sorry, that is easy. Nascar is great to watch, but listen too? No thanks.

Of course, I don't ever expect to be anywhere but in front of a tv during NFL Sundays.

I'd rather listen to the yankees team all being slaughtered than baseball.

That is truly how much I hate that team.

I bought a portable Sirus radio and it sounds great with the FM transmitter. My opinion is that I would never consider an XM radio because of so many amazing choices with Sirius. Just compare the lineup of both and decide which one to go with.

lol, wouldn't be any fun if there wasn't someone to hate.

My question would be prices. I know they are both $10 a month, but isn't the hardware mega expensive?

They are $13 a month for either one. XM used to be $10 but the price went up. As for the hardware no it isn't expensive. I think if you looked into it you will see it isn't as bad as you think. I just put a new head unit in my truck which is XM ready, so all I needed to do was buy the little box with antenna which was a around $110 bucks. Thats it.... cake

If you don't have an XM ready head unit you will need to buy a different set up which has a little screen that you can see the channels through instead of using your head unit to do that.

I paid to have it installed since I have no clue how to do it myself

I just bought a RoadyXT and added the antenna myself. You can't see the wires and the Roady's head unit thing isn't that noticable. I just put it on the little tray underneath the heating controls. Until I find a good place to put it, that's where it stays.

Although, I think getting a headunit with XM/Sirrius already in it would be the best choice for a clean setup.
