I dont think its a case of Toyota copying mazda, it's just the way the whole look of cars are evolving.... Partically due to styling, and partially due to saftey designs!
Also trying to reduce drag with the designs as well as safety.

That type of styling has been around for decades. It is suppose to remind people of the old Duece Coupe type of vehicles.

Most vehicles have some sort of accent lines that are similar to that on the hood.

I think the Camry looks much better than the Mazda's. It looks much stronger.
