Changing the stock halogens.

I changed over to Sylvania Silverstar. The bulbs are a friggin nightmare to change. Tight as hell space to get into. Be careful when you do it to make sure you have the bulb situated properly and that the metal clips are hooked properly, otherwise they will not point properly. Also plan on scraping your knuckles until they bleed and also mumbling explitaves to yourself. I just kept saying WTF...WTF...WTF!!!

It's done now and I hope they were worth the money. $35.00/pair.

I did this at work in the parking lot before lunch with no tools, you may want to do it at home and remove your headlights, or get a 3 year old with small agile hands to help you. hehe

of the hands, I want to see the bloody hands, we know what silverstars look like, I am guessing you got the blue tinted ones

I got Osram Silverstar and I am very pleased with the quality of the light on the road.

Yes, I too feel your pain. Changing the headlight bulbs suck all other bulbs are a cinch.

and yes, use that damn search feature, better to bring one back from the dead that start a whole new thread on an old topic

I must say I'm pissed that I didn't search first or I would have found out about the cheaper and better Osram bulbs!

What can I say... I'm a dumbass!

The Sylvanias do look OK, but I paid $35.00 for my pair at Autozone. The Osram Silverstars are the best out there, and they are only like $31.21 a pair - shipped! I'm gunna scream now!

http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ just change currency to USD in the lower left corner of the site.

I am still trying to figure out what is wrong with Sylvania Silverstars, are they not still brighter than stock?

blue coating reduces light output, the osram bulbs do not have blue coating-no blue splash in your headlight

Hmmm. However does this mean the will be less bright than the stock bulbs? Or are people just saying for the money, the Osram ones are the better choice because they are technically better for the buck?

Exclamation head light wiring problem

Yesterday for no apparent reason both my headlights went out. I was idling in a driver thru, no bumps, nothing. If I pull for momentary high beams they come on, but not by the switch.

Both dash and hood fuses are good, the headlight relay under the hood comes on/off but I have no ground to my headlight plug itself.

I don't have a good wiring diagram for my Yaris. Any info, or links to a online wiring diagram would be much appreciated.
