Fuel rail and injectors question

Hi,

I've been looking at pictures of the fuel rail for a year 2000 or so Yaris (1.3L)

I see there's 'something' between injectors 2 and 3. Is it some kind of cold start device? Does it have an electrical connection? I note this isn't present on the 1.0L. THANKS!

Sorry! Here's an image from a current auction listing for this fuel rail.
