Beautiful and nice choice, 6UL's are awesome.

Let me just say this now - never ever powdercoat these. It makes the metal brittle and fragile.

I woke up this morning, looked at YW, and noticed under Wheels and Tires it said "New Wheels" and the last author was 330H

I thought to myself, "Phew! All's right with the world."

Yeah, makes me wonder about wheel powdercoating, too (not that I'm about to do that having just bought new wheels). However, what's the rule? I've had wheels powdercoated in the past without issue ...

it all comes down to the science. these particular wheels are low pressure cast and heat treated to increase tensile strength. heat treating again would change the metal characteristics, since powercoat cures around 390f thats basically heat treating a second time. bad for these wheels. for other wheels the powdercoat process might make them stronger, that all depends on how they were made in the first place.

Got some work done today and finally got tires, i went a different direction and decided to go with real race tires. Studs are installed, they look pretty funny with steelies, new tires and wheels are getting mounted tomorrow. i gotta get some break in miles on them to their ready for track duty in a few weeks.
