Lightbulb Your amplifier: 2ch, 4ch, or 5 channel?

What number of channels do y'all think is appropriate on an amplifier for a 2007 hatchback? I'm looking to upgrade the whole system because it really sucks right now

If I really wanted to build it up, it'd be 8 channels. 7 and 8 bridged for the sub and 3 way components would use the 6 other channels.

I use a 4ch. 3 and 4 bridged for the sub. 1 and 2 for components up front.

I have a 2 channel 75w/channel rms under the passenger seat for the fronts and a 600 rms watt mono in the trunk for the sub. Front speakers are polk audio component and the sub is a 12 inch JL audio.

It's all personal preference. I'm a firm believer in having more than enough headroom when it comes to power. If you can drive your speakers on half the amount of power your amps can output and speakers can handle, everything will be working less, run cooler and last longer. And I agree almost any stock vehicle audio system would not be up to my standard as I considered myself somewhat of an audiophile. Pioneer DEH80PRS, JL Audio C3 and Infinity Kappa components, JL Audio XD400 under passanger seat, JL Audio 600/1, JL Audio 10W7 in the sealed ProWedge box.
