yakima double down help

ok so i recently got back into biking and i purchased the hitch rack. everything was going good for a while till the plastic bike cages are always loosening up. anyone with a fix to stop them from moving? im thinking electrical tape or plastidip around the cages to prevent cage from moving. just wanted to know if someone has a better idea. thanks.

staypuft,

If you open the large fittings a bit they put pressure on the bar and stay put. If you make sure the smaller fitting's retaining rings are flush to the bars they will usually stay put.

If you drive aggressively while bicycles are loaded they will still move some, so take it easy.

Edit: These items are considered consumable, as are the rubber straps, so don't be surprised if after 2 years of heavy use you need to replace these things.
