rear brake light problem

hello,
My rear brake lights dont work when i press the brake pedal. i checked the bulbs and it seemed to be ok, i checked the right lower fuse and it seemed to be ok as well.
what can be the problem?

Did you check the stop light switch, actuated by the brake peddle?

The switch being bad is definitely a possibility, but are you sure you checked the correct fuse (the STOP fuse):

I checked the stop fuse ,

And it was ok. In my 2003 yaris the fuse scheme is different from what shown here. Where exactly the pedal switch located?

On the 2003, the fuse panel is different, but the fuse is still the 10A STOP fuse. The switch is located on the frame of the brake pedal. When the pedal is pressed, the arm of the brake pedal presses the switch.

How did you check the fuse ? visually or with a Multi meter ?

Well, it actually releases the switch, but you get the idea.
