I had a 2004 auto hatchback, which also suffered from body roll. Just changing the wheels for 15" rims with 195/55 R15 gave a significant improvement. You can't go much bigger than that in size with an automatic. Following that, the addition of a sway bar at the rear is also highly recommended, as is lowering the suspension a bit. Around 1.5 inches is quite safe and won't get you into wheel rubbing issues.

i have 195/50/15 with sway bar, strut brace and dropped a little bit more than 2 inchs with performance spring and shocks..
just like Tarkus mentioned, 195 is the widest you can go...you should check out Hankook RS3 performance tires..i believe tires are important than any mods ive done..seriously... 😐 I should have upgraded to performance tires..i have semi performance Hankook V2 tires and i regret them...should have went for RS3s...😭 Sent from my SM-J700F using Tapatalk

205/50/15 will fit fine, and with the right wheel and fender rolling, so will a 225/45/15.

If it has automatic transmission, you have to stay within 3% of the stock outside wheel diameter. The tire size calculater on 1010tires.com is handy for working that out. You get a lot more leeway if it's a manual.
